Biography

The Dusty 45s have inspired and fired up crowds coast to coast for over two decades delighting fans and critics alike. With their signature vintage style and sound, the band brings a powerful and energetic show to the Americana genre.
Led by charismatic singer/songwriter, guitarist and trumpeter, Billy Joe Huels, the engaging band tears through original hits while paying homage to the roots of rockabilly, blues, honky tonk and traditional jazz. The Dusty 45s feature a top notch cast of musicians including Jerry Battista (lead guitar), Robin Cady (upright bass), Kohen Burrill (drums), and William Stover (piano).

Huels and his outfit have steadily built their fan base at festivals and roadhouses around the country since 1997. The band also serves as backing band for Rock and Roll hall of famer, Wanda Jackson, and in 2011 they were tapped to tour with Jackson on Adele’s “21” tour.

The Dusty 45s have also shared the stage with many other top artists including, Lyle Lovett, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, John Prine, Lucinda Williams, Leann Rhymes, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Brandi Carlisle and the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies.

The Dusty 45s have released 7 recordings, with the 2014 album, “Live and On Fire”, showcasing the best of their bold and brassy sound. They continue to tour nationally and will also hit Europe this spring. A new studio record is planned in the upcoming year.
